"Subject alternative names" ... for OFTP2 instead of AS2 ?

Hello,

the expert view in "Generate key" gives the possibility to define "Subject alternative names".
To be honest, I have no idea if this is relevant for AS2 at all.
But it looks like corresponding dialog ("Manage Subject Alternative Name for the key") was meant to be used for OFTP2 instead of AS2.
Please have a look at the description: "In OFTP2 ... to set up your Odette id ..."
And I think the attributes to be added refer to OFTP2 instead of AS2, at least some of them.

AS2 build 57.

xtown99b,

The Subject Alternative Name (SAN) is an extension to the X. 509 specification that allows users to specify additional host names for a single SSL certificate. The use of the SAN extension is standard practice for SSL certificates, and it's on its way to replacing the use of the common name.
Nonetheless we have seen the proctival use in OFTP2 only so far, you are right. But you can set it up for every certificate if you like to.This is why we added it to the key generation process. Because all our communication software products that deal with certificates (AS2, OFTP2, AS4, SFTP, HTTPS) share the same code for the key generation you can see this in AS2, too. If you don't use it in AS2 just ignore it, its just an additional option.
